Curious about the Ice Of Boston inclusion. Also, I know I have listened to their whole debut album before, but it still feels like Hot Hot Heat's only song is Bandages.
I know they never fit into this scene in a proper sense... but when I saw you included "Since you've been gone", I feel no shame throwing a vote for Switchfoot. "Meant to Live" or "Stars" in retrospect kind of set up my musical taste palette at 14 to be able to go back at age 20 to rediscover Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, and all the other cool bands I missed at the time. In some ways Switchfoot is a nice gentle bridge from the more emo/pop punk scenes that seemed to overtake midwest teen culture in the early 00s and the indie-rock scene (which became all those teens' favorites in their 20s)
