The 'Such Great Heights' Book Tour Is About To Commence
Brooklyn, Columbus, Kansas City, Perrysburg, Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Chicago, I'll be seeing you soon. Also: I went on my favorite podcast!
After six months of spamming the internet at every opportunity, my book SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS: The Complete Cultural History of the Indie Rock Explosion is finally out next week. Pre-order it now, and then make plans to attend one of my upcoming events in a city near you.
OK, these cities are not near everyone, but if you’re a New Yorker or residing somewhere drivable from my home base in the greater Columbus area, you can and should come through. Events in Brooklyn, Columbus, Kansas City, Perrysburg, Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Chicago are on the docket. If you want me to come do a book event in your city, get in touch!
In other SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS promo news, today I am the guest on my favorite podcast, Rob Harvilla’s 60 Songs That Explain The 90s: The 2000s, discussing the book and Vampire Weekend. Listen to that here — my part starts one hour and six minutes into the pod, but you should definitely listen to the whole thing because Rob is great — and look out for a lot more media hits coming up.
With promotional business ramping up, I haven’t had the time to crank out a new B-side essay for the newsletter lately, but I intend to keep those coming for the foreseeable future. In the meantime, look out for more chapter soundtracks and maybe some silly low-impact posts coming soon. Thanks for reading my work, subscribing to this newsletter, buying the book, attending my events, and otherwise supporting my efforts to make a living writing about indie rock in the year 2025.

No LA?
